Student Project System

At Research Lab Club, members design and carry out projects in two main formats:

Correlational Research (CR)

Begin by exploring relationships between variables through surveys, observations, or existing data. This stage helps members practice forming hypotheses, collecting data, and analyzing results.
"Ex. Does study time correlate with stress level?"

Experimental Research (ER)

Build on your skills by designing controlled experiments to test cause-and-effect. This allows deeper exploration of research questions and stronger methodological training.
"Ex. Does mindfulness training reduce stress compared to no training?"

📅 Year Structure

Our Research Program now follows a one-year cycle, giving students enough time to build a complete research project

from conceptualization to data visualization.

🍁 Fall Quarter — Build Your Team
• Form teams & choose Project Leader
• Pick your topic (CR or ER)
• Draft research question, variables & operational definitions
• Attend workshops: research basics, survey design, ethics

❄️ Winter Quarter — Design & Collect Data
• Finalize hypothesis
• Build your full survey or experiment procedure
• Run data collection
• Clean & organize your dataset

🌸 Spring Quarter — Analyze & Present
• Run statistical analysis
• Make charts, graphs & visualizations
• Interpret results & build your final slides
• Present at the Research Symposium

📜 Certificate of Completion

Upon successful completion of each research project, members will be awarded an official Certificate of Completion from the Research Lab Club, recognizing their effort, contribution, and academic achievement.

To be eligible for the certificate, members must:

1. Join the meetings regularly.

2. Take part in the project work and contribute in some way.

3. Share their project results at the final presentation or workshop.

4. Submit the final project deliverable (presentation, report, or equivalent) by the deadline.

5. Adhere to ethical research standards, including honesty in data handling and respectful collaboration.
